What is JETS PathAssess™?
JETS PathAsses™ is a vocational assessment tool that assesses for interest
in engineering education and career options. It is based upon two validated and
tested theories of career development and choice: the Holland Theory of vocational interest and
Lent's Social Cognitive Career Theory.
Used in concert, these theories reliably contribute to satisfying career choices
for people of varying ages, cultures, and levels of education.
How does the JETS PathAssess™ do this?
Upon completing the Holland vocational interests questionnaire (the Interest Profiler
- accessed via the button "My Interests"), users are provided with their personal
Holland Code. This personal code is then compared to the unique Holland codes of
55 college-level engineering majors, and then used to extract a personalized list
of majors and occupations most compatible with the user. This list is the result
of rigorous consensus coding by doctoral-level experts. We know of no other academic
and career search process that provides Holland interest codes for so many engineering
specialties.
After exploring the compatible engineering majors and occupations, the user will
be ready to complete the optional Career Planning questionnaire. In this case, users
complete items related to beliefs about their ability to achieve goals and obtain
valued outcomes in their careers of choice. The answers to these items are mapped
onto their Holland codes to produce a list of engineering majors and occupations
that incorporate their goals and values, and that most closely match their interest.
Pricing
The JETS PathAssess™ user fee is $12.95
